Description: I. The film covers three of the six days the New Zealand team spent in Paris. The first scenes show their tour of the city by horse-drawn charabanc on 16 February, visiting the Bois de Boulogne and Les Invalides. A visit to Versailles, which actually took place on 18 February, is seen next. The match takes place at the Parc des Princes stadium, the spectators being mainly soldiers. The New Zealand team comes out first and performs a 'haka' dance, after which the French team comes out. The kick-off is made by Miss Violet Russell, daughter of the New Zealand divisional commander. The match itself is shown in detail. The New Zealand team is then seen in its charabanc turning past the Arc de Triomphe and into the Champs Elysées (possibly more of the 16 February city tour).II. To the end of the film is attached a brief, unrelated scene of a British Cavalry patrol on the Western Front.
A rugby match between the New Zealand Division 'All Blacks' and a French Army selection, played in Paris on Sunday 17 February 1918, the New Zealanders winning 5 points to 3.
